Joanna Malm
With a passion for music education and a warm heart for her students and their families, Joanna Malm has been an inspirational teacher since she began her private music studio in 2003. Joanna has a BA in Music and has completed a post-graduate Certificate in Suzuki Pedagogy at the University of Denver. She has studied pedagogy with James Maurer, William Preucil Sr., Mark Bjork, and Edmund Sprunger. Committed to life-long learning, she has training in injury-prevention for musicians with Valerie Gardner, has completed teacher training in Music Mind Games with Michiko Yurko, and has studied the Ploger Method of Music Perception and Cognition with Marianne Ploger at Vanderbilt University. Joanna has performed violin and viola throughout the US and England and is currently the Assistant Principal Violist of the Symphony of the Rockies.

Laura Johnson
Laura Johnson began her violin studies at two years old, igniting a love for music that continues into adulthood. She has studied with James Maurer from the University of Denver and has taken specialized training in violin technique from Valerie Gardner. She has performed as a soloist with orchestras throughout the Denver area and has also performed in England and Wales. Laura has been teaching violin privately since 2007. In addition to her training in Suzuki pedagogy, she has studied the Taubman Technique with Brenna Berman and Robert Durso. With a background in nursing, Laura uses her knowledge of anatomy and physiology to help her students avoid playing-related injuries. She currently plays violin in the Symphony of the Rockies and performs as a freelance musician throughout the Denver area.
